REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
JOB PURPOSE
Implementing procedures, policies and regulations in the departments involving budget, accounting, finance and purchases
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc.
- Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Finance Manager
- Help oversee and manage individual accounts as well as assist with financial data entry and general bookkeeping
- Create, send, and follow up on invoices. Manage data, records, and reports by checking for errors and verifying accuracy of information
- Review and adhere to department budgets
- Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets. Prepare receipts, vouchers, invoices, etc. for entry into data sheets
- Review and audit financial statements and reports, ensure all calculations and data entries are correct
- Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by checking with employees and/or clients
- Report any troubling discoveries or suspicion of wrongdoing to the proper authorities
- Collect information for and prepare payroll payments for employees
- Adhere to the company's or organization’s financial policies and procedures
- Provide assistance to stakeholders, customers, and clients as needed
- Attend finance department and company-wide meetings, assist with financial reporting to Plant and Finance Manager
- Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.
- Review invoices and make necessary purchases for the site of items such as consumables, chemicals etc
- Perform other duties assigned
Required Skills or Experience
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
BSc in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. ACCA, CA, CFA or related certifications will be a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- A minimum of five (5) years plus experience in the same or similar role
- Mathematical and accounting acuity
- Knowledgeable in basic accounting/bookkeeping practices and processes
- Computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Suite (mainly Excel) and other accounting and data input software
- Excellent communicator, both spoken and written
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Thrives working both independently (a self-starter) and collaboratively
- Dependable, respectful and consistently works to uphold company ethics and standards
